We'll here we are.  June 11,
and we have arrived home.
We traveled 5597 miles,
of historic, scenic United States.
You haven't seen our country until you have traveled our back country roads,
where you will see Americana at it's best.
And, there's no better way to do that than on a motorcycle.

Whether your plan a weekend ride or an epic vacation, if you need tips on where to go or how to arrange your trip, call and we can help .

And finally, the Best road in America,
Redlands Blvd. Redlands, Ca.
Honda, Yamaha, Husqvarna of Redlands

ROY'S  (Amboy, Ca)  never looked so good..... even at 100+  temp  ;)

Heading into California.
What an epic trip this has been!

From New Mexico heading into Arizona.....
Though into familiar riding territory now,  we never tire of this scenery.
How could you ?

Old Town....Williams, Az.
This is a great little town, one not to miss.
Gateway to the Grand Canyon and a perfect long weekend ride.

Madrid New Mexico.
Neat area, great road, nice people,
but the town's name may also ring a bell.
It's where the comedy "Wild Hogs" was filmed
(J. Travolta, M. Lawrence, T. Allen and Wm. Macy).
About 4 middle aged wannabe bikers on a bucket list ride.

John in front of Maggie's Diner, Madrid, NM

"Gorgeous" views on the Santa Fe Trail heading into Taos, NM.
What a neat road.

Santa Fe Trail in the Cimarron Canyon area.
We could smell the pine trees so fresh from the bike.
 Beautiful ride.

Tony in Taos Plaza, Taos, NM

Loose Wheels, Texas....
Cool  "Member's Only"  biker bar... in a dry county...
Tucked away from the mainstream area you have to "know" it's there to find it.
HINT
( Pretty much anyone 21 with a valid license can become a "member" )

Every state so far has amazed us with beautiful scenery and "fun" roads.
Here's just a couple back roads we found in Louisiana.  One of our favorite states to ride through.

Relaxing day riding along a bayou heading into Pierre Part, home of Troy Landry from History Channel's "Swamp People"  (and yes we got to meet him)

New Orleans... Not sure what to say about this place ....
"FUN" ...  "ENERGETIC" ... "WEIRD" ...  are three words that come to mind.

New Orleans is known for her unique and ornate (some say HAUNTED) cemeteries.  Here are two graves  (circa early 1800's) still maintained by family members.

Like the old graveyards and homes in some areas of New Orleans, the architecture on Bourbon Street (French Quarter)  is beautiful.

Just after leaving Mississippi
we found ourselves riding along a Louisiana levee road
(lots of farming in this area)
and saw this tugboat and barge being lifted
in a lock on the Mississippi river

other side of the lock,  Mississippi River,  Louisiana levee road.

AMERICANA
Natchez Trace

Back on the Natchez Trace,  one of the most relaxing beautiful roads we've ridden,
and we've been riding since 1977.
444 miles long.... and never had to pass another vehicle.

This historic home on the Natchez Trace
is where 35 year old Meriwether Lewis (Lewis and Clark) died.
Though the cause is unknown, persistent belief is....
he was murdered.

Couple more pictures of the Barber Museum.....

Saturday, May 31, 2014

Took a side trip off the Natchez Trace to Birmingham, Alabama
to see the famous Barber Motorcycle Museum....
5 floors with thousands of presteen bikes from every known manufacturer.... 1886 to present day.
Absolutely a  "MUST SEE"  for any rider.

 Most amazingly beautiful motorcycle road...
444 miles thr Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi .
Today traveled over 145 of those miles and never had a single vehicle in front of us

Taking a moment off the bikes to walk through some of the
"Old Natchez Trace"...  the original path used by Choctaw and Cherokee as a trade route,
runs through much of the Parkway

Heading on the Natchez Trace, Mississippi portion

Raining Dragons !!
Running Tail of the Dragon...  in the rain.
Piece of Cake for California riders  ....   ;)

Just outside of Deals Gap at the beginning of the
Tail of the Dragon
318 curves in 11 miles.

"Tree of Shame"
Started in the 80's, a makeshift shrine of bike parts and pieces,
donated by those bitten by the Dragon,
( possible addition - one that happened while we were on the road )

"Raining'' on the  Dragon ... FUN - Beautiful ..... but didn't expect rain.

 Day 2 ...Hemingway's home.
Man "LOVED"  cats, so much that
45 little pampered kitty "heirs" still call this place home.

Key West Sunset. They say if you watch at the exact moment the sun goes down you'll see Green Flashes of light on the horizon....
tonight it was cloudy though..... no flashes.

                               It's 5 o'click Somewhere !!
